Deacon Jack was born in Santa Paula, California. He grew up in Sacramento, San Jose, and Willows, California. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy where he received an education in electronic technology. He met his wife Kathy, who is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. They were married in 1971 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis, Maryland. Deacon Jack was not raised in the Church. He entered the Catholic Church and was baptized while in the Navy. He served as an advisor to the Vietnam Navy and was stationed out of DaNang, Vietnam, during the Vietnam conflict. After the leaving the Navy he worked in the office equipment business in several engineering capacities. He was transferred to Georgia in 1986. Deacon Jack was ordained to the diaconate in February 2016, and serves in our parish of which he has been a member since 2001. He and Kathy have raised three sons, two of whom live in Roswell with their families. Their son Stephen passed away in 2017. They are the proud grandparents of two granddaughters and one grandson.
